Condition
It is in overall very good condition. There are just some firing imperfections and only a few typical minute nicks to the unglazed rim.

本品乃定窰精品。定瓷胎質細膩白哲，坯胎上毋須施化妝土，故釉面柔潤，色呈牙白，聚處若淚痕而色略深。明清收藏家評鑑宋代五大名窰，定窰為其一。此盌胎體輕薄，釉色均潤。定瓷劃花一貫以自然流麗著稱，然而本品瓷匠技藝似更嫻熟，線條靈動酣暢，紋飾寫實自然，匠意獨具。
清宮舊藏一件近例，盌徑稍大，金屬釦口，現存北京，刊於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集．兩宋瓷器（上）》，香港，1996年，圖版52。台北故宮博物院藏一例，錄於《故宮藏瓷．定窰》，台北，1973年，圖版41。靜觀堂另藏一例，展於《文物粹珍一徐氏藝術基金藏陶瓷青銅器選》，皇后坊博物館，新加坡，1992年，編號46，其後售於香港佳士得1996年11月3日，編號535，後再售於紐約佳士得1997年9月18日，編號144。再參考一例，先後售於香港蘇富比2005年5月2日，編號588及倫敦蘇富比2012年5月16日，編號88。
定窰遺址位於河北曲陽縣，宋時屬定州。定窰瓷器以日用小盌碟為主，於宋初十至十一世紀初，所出瓷器多為素白無紋。北宋中葉十一世紀末至十二世紀初，定瓷始流行刻花劃紋。直至十三世紀左右，始採印花之技，飾紋繁麗。柯玫瑰指，定窰所出，曾為官用瓷器，時有意倣效宮中所藏大量金銀寶器，見《Song Ceramics》，倫敦，1982年，頁102。
