註：吳湖帆齋室名號多與其藏品相關，梅景書屋、四歐堂、邢克山房等皆如是。「王子兩壺衛叔雙敦齋」乃指他繼承自祖父吳大澂青銅四器：宗婦壺兩隻，衛叔公敦一雙。宗婦壺銘文起首二字「王子」，故有此名，現藏南京博物院。四器均見錄於〈愙齋集古錄〉，及〈愙齋集古圖卷〉。
吳郁生，光緒三年（1877）進士，官至禮部尚書、軍機大臣。辛亥革命後，以遜清遺老定居青島，深居簡出，不談政事，而以書名，不輕與人，惟多應吳湖帆所請題「梅景書屋」珍秘之物，〈董美人墓誌〉、「四歐」之一〈皇甫誕碑〉， 紀念亡妻潘靜淑、廣徵圖詠的〈綠遍池塘草〉冊，題耑皆出其手筆。本幅原紙背後有吳湖帆恭楷求書小字，對前輩尊敬可見一斑。
