此臨米元暉〈湖山煙靄圖〉,後有文衡山太史跋云:曾見梁溪華氏藏元暉〈大姚江圖〉,自書「紹興己未,除守瑯琊,待次平江,寓大姚村妹家戲作此卷」,自題「紹興十一年九月十五日」,按元暉生於元祐元年,時已六十六,是年赴召為兵部侍郎,距畫〈大姚江圖〉後兩年耳。「懶拙」之號見洪景盧淳熙六年題〈瀟湘圖〉云:誰能起懶拙老人於九京,則元暉卒于乾道元年,時已八十,又距洪題〈瀟湘圖〉時,已歸道山十餘年矣。錢竹汀、吳思亭編〈疑年錄〉皆未載元暉生卒,因於是卷攷而記之。光緒十八年,壬辰夏四月仙誕日。吳門後學顧澐臨。

題跋(於隔水):
元暉〈海嶽庵圖〉今在余家,生平所見真跡,止此一卷,思翁故物也。昨自京師歸,雲壼出示近作,煙雲湊泊之趣,真得虎兒筆髓,恍若置身巖壑間,滌盡年來十斛塵矣!乙未閏五月初伏日。峐褱記。

題跋:
山中宰相有仙骨,坐愛嶺頭生白雲;壁張此畫定驚倒,先請倩人扶著君。昨見香光臨光元暉〈瀟湘圖〉,錄虎兒自題詩,遂書卷尾。壬寅九月。西蠡。

鈐印:
〈顧〉 「顧澐臨本」、「雲壼僊隱」、「鶴所散人」。
〈費〉 「 念慈私印」、「己丑對策第九」、「念慈之印」、「費」、「屺懷」(鈐於簽條)。

註:本卷臨自米元暉(1086-1165)〈湖山烟靄圖〉。米氏承家學,在「米家山水」基礎上加以發展,其潤澤盈篇、烟雲滿紙的創作手法,為後世追摹的對象。顧雲壼筆墨精到,臨古師古,稱譽姑蘇畫壇。筆下此卷,顯見「春雨初霽,江上諸山,雲氣漲漫,崗嶺山沒,林樹隱見」之境;筆墨運用上,以簡代密,以點代線的特色表露無遺,在形式及創作手法方面,盡得「米家山水」精髓。最見真章者,莫過於氣韻掌握上,毋刻意臨摹而失諸刻板的缺弊,反映於題跋所錄之攷證,堪見其閲歷之深,識見之廣,鑽研之勤,對臨古的外在表達形式和內涵精神領悟透澈。此外,他在卷上並臨米元暉題款及文徵明長跋,其書畫俱擅,綜覽各家之造詣,可見一斑。

米元暉原卷錄於裴景福〈壯陶閣書畫錄〉卷五。顧澐臨此於一八九二年,遠早於該書付梓之日或許更在原卷歸壯陶閣前。卷尾附費念慈(1855-1905)一八九五及一九〇二年之跋,前者説明卷成後三年尚保留於顧家;另跋題署時,顧氏墓木已拱多年,故本卷可能已轉歸費氏。費念慈精金石,工書畫,擅鑒賞。題跋所見他對米氏作品甚有研究,兼有收藏,他甫自京師歸,即得顧澐出示本卷供賞,可知交情匪淺。畫家歿後,本卷由知交保存,實得其所矣!
