〈一〉
大癡腰，雲林足，不向三趙問青與綠。楊昇縱筆揮，原來僧繇無拘束，神行腕底，奇山怪水空中落。
己巳八月廿七日燈下偶筆，為博鏡波笑笑。吳湖帆識於嵩山草堂。
〈二〉
生長崑崙山絕頂，誑言煉補有情天。山樵原是漚波種，我亦神來到筆尖。
鏡波仁兄索畫黃鶴石法，為圖此幀，自謂有山樵妙處在吾筆端，應使陸天游、徐幼文首肯余言。己巳八月，湖帆戲筆。
題識：
龍跳天門，虎臥鳳閣。相皠張榖年觀。
鈐印：「醜簃」（二鈐）。
藏印：「波平如鏡」。
款識：

上款：「鏡波」即朱鏡波（1889-1968），字平齋，齋號「月波樓」，江蘇蘇州人。畫家，喜收藏，與吳湖帆、馮超然等滬上書畫家交誼甚深。
註：朱鏡波與吳湖帆、馮超然同寓海上，常相往來，晨夕交流藝事，故得兩人作品甚多，如長卷各寫一段，又或合筆成之。本幅「識於嵩山草堂」，應屬湖帆夜訪老友處，興到揮毫，寫贈朱氏，一為山水，一為奇石，設色、水墨兼備，皆淡宕飄逸，跋中所錄詩詞，內容皆涉畫事，綜論唐宋元諸家筆墨傳承淵源，蓋受贈者亦內行人矣。題識者張榖年，即馮超然外甥兼門人。
