新加坡著名收藏家張慶重舊藏
張慶重(1910-1992),褔建南靖人。一九二九年出國謀生,在新加坡經營航運有成。雅好書畫,七十年代末期,中國剛改革開放,他在經營之餘,走訪大江南北畫家,談藝論畫,引為知交,並廣事收藏,以當代作品為主。他尤嗜傅抱石書畫,收藏中亦以傅氏作品數量最夥。始自四十年代至六十年代,人物題材格外偏好,如屈子行吟、如〈九歌〉中神袛人物,如觀瀑、賞畫等,無不搜羅盡備。他往訪中國時,與畫家家屬亦有往來,復得羅時慧題款之傅氏遺作,並及其兒女輩作品,足見交情菲薄。

Condition

-Signs of restoration could be found at the lower section of the work where there was small paper cracks, otherwise, generally in good condition. Light brushmarks could be found at the middle section of the painting, which are not stains, likely to be drafts by the artist himself.

註:傅抱石擅取歷史故實入畫,選材範圍之一乃晋代高賢風雅之遺事,在膾炙人口之〈竹林七賢〉外,〈洗手圖〉亦屬好引入畫者,其典故取自唐代張彥遠〈歷代名畫記〉卷二,內容述東晋顯宦桓玄酷嗜書畫,招邀賓客觀賞,為免觸污,遂令觀者先洗手,方可展卷觀看。本幅所寫即此情狀,畫中所見,前為擁簇圍觀展卷軸者,其狀凝神專注,傍乃手執畫軸者,似在交流觀畫心得。後方設長型矮几,上置盆供洗手,一客甫洗畢,僕在傍執巾供抹拭,畫面最前方背立側首以視諸客者,應為桓玄,婢女執長柄扇在側,恰好凸顯其主人身份。

全畫佈局簡潔,人物位置編排有序,而觀畫、洗手動作,環環相扣,既清晰點出主題所在,也交待了賓主身份。畫家筆下刻劃削繁就簡,無斤斤約束於繁瑣細節,筆到意到,瀟灑自如,極攝晋賢高致逸韻。

畫上題曰「癸未八月,警報歸來」,即指抗戰時陪都屢遭日寇戰機轟炸,居民嘗受空襲警報之困。而「重讀張愛賓〈畫記〉」,即張彥遠〈歷代名畫記〉。

從創作時間推斷,本幅應屬此題材之第三本,考傅氏傳世畫迹,〈洗手圖〉首見於一九四二年壬午重慶畫展中,畫家在畫展自序有詳細描述,謂該幅「是七月十二、十三兩日畫的」。翌年「立秋後一日」,即公曆八月八日,寫有另幅,其構圖佈局,略與首本接近,袛是改橫幅為立軸。未及兩月,再成本幅。其配景佈置、人物刻劃,與上述兩本又是別番樣貌,從中可見畫家毋欲自陷桎梏,反映了身處金剛坡時期創作靈感如泉湧之特徵。
