亨利．魯斯（1898-1967）於抗戰期間大力支持國民政府，並於一九四一年五月訪華，在重慶與蔣介石伉儷會面。作品或為此行所得，畫中呈現風格，亦與畫家三十年代末至四十年代初居嘉陵江畔時期相類。
