上款：「萬里」即馬萬里（1904-1979），江蘇武進人，著名書畫篆刻家。二十年代肆業於南京美術專科學校，復遷居滬上，嘗受業於錢名山，與其婿謝玉岑及稚柳昆仲相交甚篤。抗戰期間，創辦桂林美術專科學校，奔走各地發起義賣畫展。
註：畫上題曰「伯勉」即關德懋（1903-1999），安徽六安人，早歲從政，國民政府入職。一九四五年夏，謝稚柳於西安舉辦個人畫展，即借居時任工礦調整處西安辦事處主任之關氏寓所，因同嗜書畫、好詩文，結成友好，交誼垂數十載，屢有佳作寫贈。本幅乃畫家請托關氏轉致老友馬萬里。又謂「將之臺」，乃指是年關氏隨中紡公司渡台之事，此後，彼此兩地相隔數十載矣。
