閒中偶憶岳公齋中有此二語，戲書之。
延青小友索為署題，此老年人語，非青年所當，但堪一哂耳。爰。
鈐印：「千千千」、「大千父」、「張爰之印」、「大千居士」。

-Foxing at the top and discolouration along the sides can be found, which can be improved by restoration. Otherwise, generally in good condition.

上款：「延青」即劉延青，早歲留學美國，返台後得台靜農之介，任大千先生之英文秘書。
註：大千先生與張群同籍，亦為平生摯交，尊之如親兄長，定居台灣後，往來更頻。本聯曰「岳公齋中有此二語」，據張群憶述，其客廳牆上，懸書此語之匾額，聯文實源自韓國，淵源未可考，惟語簡意深，而「人生修養之方，已得綱要矣」。大千喜其內涵，遂書贈隨侍身傍之秘書，實有自勉勉人之意，蓋其與延青即「一老」「一少」也！
