Condition
It is in overall good condition except for a retouched Y-shaped branch of the red nerve. There are also expected stains, adhesions, crackles, minor dents and scratches.

蠟製解剖模型起源於意大利佛倫洛薩及博洛尼亞，首批史料記載的模型由佛羅倫薩矯飾主義雕塑家盧多維柯·卡迪（又名奇戈利，1559-1613年）及蓋塔諾·尊博（1656-1701年）製造。十八世紀時，解剖模型開始大量生產，用以訓練醫生、外科醫生和助產士。不少模型製造大師便來自博洛尼亞及城內著名學府，如埃考勒·萊利（1702-66年）及喬瓦尼·曼索里尼（1700-55年）。他們的作品給予佛羅倫薩人體解剖模型博物館的雕塑家以靈感，另一位外科醫生、佛羅倫薩新聖母醫院的產科教授朱塞佩·加萊蒂也啟發了雕塑家的創作。此尊解剖模型便有可能作於此時，科學嚴謹又不失藝術技巧。
