「玉玲瓏」乃上海豫園鎮園之寶，數百年來以其皺、漏、瘦、透之美聞名遐邇。劉丹為此名石作畫並題石濤詩一首。此畫原為李雪曼（1918至2008年）舊藏。李雪曼先生為美國著名亞洲藝術史學家，曾任克利夫蘭美術館館長並將其位列美國頂尖藝術機構，其亦深得曾創辦亞洲協會的洛克菲勒三世夫婦信任，為其藝術收藏顧問。本拍品於1998年由劉丹贈予亞洲協會，意在感謝李先生對亞洲藝術做出的傑出貢獻。
