of circular form, deeply carved through the alternating layers of black and red lacquer with ruyi scrolls, the interior and base applied with plain black lacquer, Japanese wood box
Condition
There are some minute flakes (largest 0.2cm) to the lacquer at the extremities and some expected age cracks to the cover (0.7cm max.), the interior and the base of the box. The rims of the box and cover with minor areas of retouching.
