deftly carved through three layers of red, green and ochre-yellow, one face depicting a group of scholars gathered in a garden landscape appreciating a scroll, the reverse with five boys at play, all between ruyi and lappet bands, the base lacquered black, incised and gilt with a four-character Qianlong seal mark
Condition
There is retouching to the band around the foot, otherwise good condition.
