The scabbard slide is in good condition and very well patinated. There is expected insignificant nibbling along the edges and light surface wear as consistent with age. The catalogue illustration is slightly darker than the actual colour of the stone.

青白玉，通體鐵紅沁，拋光細膩。據孫機先生對劍璏的分型分式，此造型屬較為早期的「無簷璏」型，扁管中空，以穿劍帶，詳見孫機，〈玉具劍與璏式佩劍法〉，《考古》，1985年第1期，頁54，圖7:2。璏面淺浮雕獸面蟠虺紋，間有細密陰線刻，紋飾精美。獸首延伸的側面淺浮雕一口猙獰獸牙，另一側簡意琢出獸尾部分，紋飾設計意趣橫生。相類品見安徽阜陽趙王莊漢墓出土劍璏，古方，《中國出土玉器全集》，卷6，北京，2005年，頁146。
