  • ceramic
well potted with steep sides rising from a short straight foot to a rim bordered with a thin concave groove, unctuously covered overall save for the foot with a lustrous black-brown glaze attractively suffused with iridescent silvery-brown 'oil spots' of varying sizes, the glaze thinning to chocolate-brown at the rim and neatly stopping short of the lower body and foot, the unglazed section applied with a black dressing to conceal the pale grey body

Condition

It is in overall very good condition. The glaze has been very well preserved with only occasional light scratches.

此類黑釉油滴盌,依 Robert D. Mowry 於《Hare’s Fur, Tortoiseshell, and Partridge Feathers. Chinese Brown- and Black-Glazed Ceramics, 400-1400》中所見,多燒製於中國北方窰口,仿建窰茶盞(哈佛藝術博物館,劍橋,馬薩諸塞州,1996年,頁149-150)。此類「油滴」視覺效果,來自於在其兩層富鐵深棕釉下,通體連足加罩一層黑色化妝土,妙仿建盞黑胎。

大維德爵士舊藏有一類例,現存倫敦大英博物館,錄於《Imperial Taste. Chinese Ceramics from the Percival David Foundation》,大英博物館,倫敦,1989年,編號9。再比二例,藏劍橋哈佛大學藝術博物館,展於《Hare’s Fur, Tortoiseshell, and Partridge Feathers》,前述出處,編號43a及b。紐約蘇富比又曾售一相似例,2015年9月15日,編號8。
