There are small scattered white spots/inclusions in the stone, i.e. to three of the four corners of the seal. There are tiny fritts to the edges and the raised part of the carved design on the top. There is overall light wear and scratching to the four sides of the seal. The colour is less orange and less vibrant than the catalogue illustration suggests, but more of a brownish tone with some translucent parts and some milky inclusions. The inscription on the base may have been later added. There is overall light wear to the gilding of the gilt bronze stand. Seal and stand are in a fitted wood box.
