the plaque finely worked in low relief on one side with a chrysanthemum bloom, bordered with stylised ruyi petals, the reverse with a central yinyang motif and surrounded by swirling petals; the hairpin modelled with an angled head and a gently curved body tapering to a rounded tip

Both pieces are in overall good condition. The plaque has been drilled for suspension. There are also minute nicks to the edges with a small section to one petal on the unillustrated side possibly polished to conceal an earlier nick.
