The washer is in good condition. There are minute nicks and tiny areas of bruising to the extremities as can be expected, including the edges of the lingzhi and the leaves.

此玉洗紋飾素雅簡潔，雕工精妙，盡現玉石溫潤光澤與均勻色調。工匠巧思，技藝超群，筆洗外壁浮雕層次細膩，枝幹盤根錯節與素雅表面形成對比。見一稍大雙靈芝筆洗例，售於紐約蘇富比1983年10月8日，編號119，後又售於香港蘇富比1989年5月18日，編號737。另一例售於香港佳士得1991年3月19日，編號707。

「靈芝」，為靈芝屬，於古代中國被認為具有長生不老，起死回生之神效，視作仙草。漢代《神農本草經》將靈芝列居百草之首，極其珍貴。靈芝常用以治療多類疾病，療效甚佳，亦被道家譽為長生不老之神藥。以靈芝為造型之盛水器更是象徵福壽延綿，平安康泰。
