明嘉靖 五彩魚藻紋盤 《大明嘉靖年製》款

There is a fine stained firing hairline extending from the footring to both the outer foot and inner foot, each of 1 cm, at 12 o'clock position relative to the reign mark. There is also an original firing body fissure underneath the glaze, measuring 2 cm, running down from the mouthrim at a position above the carp's eye on the interior. The enamels are generally well preserved except for two areas near the double-ring on the interior, at 5 o'clock and 10 o'clock positions. Enamel wear is only more obvious on some of the green leaves on the exterior. There are typical minute frits and glaze flakes on the mouthrim as well as a 1.5 cm glaze abrasion on the mouthrim at 8 o'clock position.

此盤以五彩繪游魚穿梭於海草之中，色彩繽紛，生氣盎然，沒有更好的紋飾及釉彩能如本器般詮釋嘉靖瓷器的神彩。傳世品中五彩魚藻紋盤惟見兩例著錄，一原與本器為一對，現藏大阪市立東洋陶瓷美術館；另一為大維德爵士收藏，現藏倫敦大英博物館。此幾例紋飾繪畫疏朗和諧、自然流暢，生動逼真，但海藻紋飾各異，憑添趣味。

嘉靖帝篤信道教，壽禮神仙，追求長生，癡迷練丹之術。因此，在他在位期間，藝術及工藝品紋飾上充滿道教色彩，有些綴以代表皇權、尊榮的五爪龍，如此紋飾的配搭並不見與其他朝代。

魚象徵和諧美滿、悠閒自在，在道教中被視為聖物。道家的代表人物莊子喜歡魚，其起源可以追溯到公元前五世紀後期的文獻記載。

至嘉靖朝，色彩繽紛的五彩瓷器燒造技術發展成熟，也造就了鬪彩的發展。鬪彩是結合釉下青花和釉上彩的瓷器裝飾工藝，青花主要用以勾畫輪廓，使紋飾更易掌握，再填彩入燒。五彩中，鈷藍釉並不用與勾勒紋飾輪廓，在上其他釉彩之前，先用於紋飾需用藍色表現之處，與其他釉上釉彩互相結合，使顏色豐富繁多，五彩斑斕。

嘉靖皇帝喜愛色彩繽紛之物，他尊崇道教，深信五彩能辟邪。據記載，他於內廷廣設醮壇，並用大量珍珠，龍涎香及金子，用料講究奢侈。雖然在嘉靖朝御廠陶匠在工藝上未有發展，但承舊創新，創造了不同風格及釉彩。魚藻紋飾，同見於大小罐上，於紅、黃彩上罩橘紅彩，豐富了色彩層次，令金鯉魚栩栩如生，如躍眼前。金鯉魚及後來的金魚題材早見於宋朝，見第一位專畫魚的畫家宋代劉窠（活躍於1080-1120）所繪「落花游魚圖」。

至1931年，本盤與另一件為一對，後由 Frederick M. Mayer 收藏，售倫敦佳士得1974年6月24-25日，編號104；後入安宅收藏，現藏日本大阪市立東洋陶瓷美術館收藏，錄於《嘉靖、萬曆の赤絵》，東洋陶磁美術館，大阪，1994年， 編號2（圖1）。另一對魚藻紋盤為大維德基金會收藏，現藏倫敦大英博物館，一盤錄於 Margaret Medley，《 Illustrated Catalogue of Ming Polychrome Wares in the Percival David Foundation of Chinese Art》，倫敦，1978年，圖版A730及A731。

五彩魚藻紋罐聞名於世。倫敦大英博物館藏兩件帶嘉靖款小罐，錄霍吉淑，《Ming Ceramics in the British Museum》，倫敦，2001年，圖版 9: 117 及 118。五彩魚藻紋同見於大型蓋罐，其中一例藏北京故宮博物院，錄《故宮博物院藏文物珍品大系‧五彩‧鬪彩》，香港，1999年，圖版15 ；北京朝陽區出土一例，現藏北京國家博物館，見《中國國家博物館館藏文物研究叢書‧瓷器卷‧明代》，上海，2007年，圖版84；一例藏天津市藝術博物館，見《天津市藝術博物館藏瓷》，香港，1993年，圖版116；另一例原為 Henry Walters 舊藏，後為美國巴爾的摩 Walters Art Museum 館藏，售紐約蘇富比2012年9月12日，編號262。
