明宣德 孔雀藍釉暗刻雙龍戲珠紋盤 《大明宣德年製》款

There is a 1.4 by 0.4 cm area of restoration with gilt overpaint to the outer mouthrim, which appears to cover a shallow flake. This could be easily restored and cleaned up well.

官窰所燒御瓷中，單色釉者數量極少，不僅於宣德年間，明清兩代亦然，故頗為珍貴。孔雀藍釉元代已用，時僅見於粗製陶器，至明代初期，孔雀藍釉燒製進入嶄新階段，於成形素胎之上施釉，再經二次低溫燒就，對於工匠技藝要求頗高。與本品相類之白瓷盤，內壁飾暗花龍紋，同見外罩銅紅及鈷藍釉例。因此二色釉燒成溫度與瓷胎成形之高溫相近，故顏色釉可與透明釉同時施釉，經一次燒製而成。然孔雀藍釉則需於窯燒之前先於內壁及器底施透明釉，外壁留素胎，一次高溫燒製成胎後再於外壁施孔雀藍釉，經二次低溫燒就。此過程中，工匠極需細心，以保內壁及底部素胎於燒製過程中不走色，而保持純白。

雖於永樂時期，已有對低溫釉二次燒製技藝之探索嘗試，孔雀藍釉卻似僅於宣德年間才開始引入。江西景德鎮明御廠遺址宣德地層曾出土孔雀藍釉殘片，除此之外，宣德年製帶年款孔雀藍釉瓷僅有七例可循，亦僅見一明初無款孔雀藍釉熏爐例，屬宣德年製，藏台北故宮，錄《明宣德瓷器特展目錄》，國立故宮博物院，台北，1998年，編號25。

上述七件宣德款孔雀藍釉皆為盤例，器形及年款各異，可見其從未批量產出，而是作為個例燒製。其中三例藏台北故宮，兩例藏倫敦大英博物館，另僅兩例見諸拍賣。

見一稍大宣德款盤例，形制、釉色、紋飾及年款均與本品相類，藏台北故宮，載《明宣德瓷器特展》，國立故宮博物院，台北，1998年，編號163，亦曾展於《明宣德瓷器特展》，台北，1980年，編號103；同錄一宣德刻款例，編號102。台北故宮藏第三例宣德款孔雀藍釉盤，內壁飾暗花花卉紋樣而非龍紋，見於《故宮瓷器錄》，台中，1961-66年，卷2（上），頁83。

大英博物館藏兩略大盤例，其一為 Harry Oppenheim 捐贈，錄於霍吉淑，《Ming Ceramics》，倫敦，2001年，頁142，圖版4:45，另一屬大衛德爵士舊藏，載康蕊君及霍吉淑，《Chinese Ceramics. Highlights from the Sir Percival David Collection》，倫敦，2009年，圖版33。

與本品尺寸、紋飾等皆同之宣德款盤，僅見一例，為 H.F. Parfitt 舊藏，後入英國鐵路養老基金會收藏，刊於 Adrian M. Joseph，《Ming Porcelains. Their Origins and Development》，倫敦，1971年，圖版97，及《香港蘇富比二十週年》，香港，1993年，圖版146，以及《香港蘇富比三十週年》，香港，2003年，圖版121，並曾先後於1946，1968及1973年三次售於倫敦蘇富比，後再三次售於香港蘇富比，分別於1978，1989及2004年4月25日，編號286。其成交價亦由最初之150英鎊一路攀升至12,382,400港幣。另一較大孔雀藍釉盤例，屬 R.H.R. Palmer 典藏，展於《The Arts of the Ming Dynasty》，東方陶瓷學會，1957年，編號108，後售於倫敦蘇富比1974年4月1/2日，編號240，及香港蘇富比1977年11月29日，編號55。

宣德款孔雀藍釉瓷雖傳世甚少，然景德鎮明代御廠遺址卻現燒製失敗及掩埋銷毀作例出土，其中包括兩盤，一撇口盌，一撇口盃，一鐘形盌，及一高足盃，此外亦見孔雀藍釉罩鈷藍紋飾例，見《景德鎮出土明代御窰瓷器》，北京，2009年，圖版069至074，及展覽圖錄《景德鎮出土元明官窰瓷器》，炎黃藝術館，北京，1999年，編號268至273，其中見一器形及尺寸均與本品相若盤例，然無暗花裝飾，見於前述出版，圖版073。

孔雀藍釉御瓷於明清兩代始終甚為珍罕。成化年間，孔雀藍似僅與鈷藍一同使用，見一蓋盒例，藏大英博物館，載霍吉淑，《Ming Ceramics》，倫敦，2001年，圖版6:17；北京故宮藏一罕見正德款孔雀藍釉盌，屬清宮舊藏，錄《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集·顏色釉》，1999 年，圖版144；另一極罕嘉靖款孔雀藍釉盌例，刻鳳紋，現藏英國白金漢郡 Ascott House，見康蕊君，《The Anthony de Rothschild Collection of Chinese Ceramics》，1996年，卷1，圖版66。

此盤出自兩顯赫收藏，其一為 F. Howard Paget（1886至1945年）收藏，著名之明成化青花宮盌即為其舊藏。其二為 H.R.N. Norton(卒1961/62)收藏，琵金頓收藏中數例皆源其舊藏，明永樂淨水瓶亦在其列。關於兩位藏家之生平詳述，分見拍品編號25及15。
