The dish is in overall very good condition except for some minor natural firing defects such as some grit and pitting to the centre. A minute burst bubble is on the everted rim. There are also a few typical firing flawlines on the unglazed bottom, the longest one measuring 3 cm, as well as some associated pinholes/flaw holes.

繼蒙元雄渾粗曠，蒼勁有力風格之後，有明一代，瓷器造型紋樣更趨有矩可循。本品，器型簡潔精準，模製成熟，所繪纏枝牡丹起伏有緻，回紋精細化一，設計細膩，足證此盤卓然至臻。由於貿易限制，進口鈷料愈發難得，遂銅紅料作為鈷料之替代，使用漸多。此盤釉裏紅柔和，為典型呈色。成功燒製釉下銅紅之難，藉由遺留所見此時期作品可窺一斑，甚至連一些銅紅紋樣污晦不均者皆得留存於世。

一樣式相同之釉裏紅盤例，出自玫茵堂，載康蕊君，《玫茵堂中國陶瓷》，倫敦，1994-2010年，卷4，編號1625，售於香港蘇富比1989年5月16日，編號118；後再售於香港佳士得1994年5月1/3日，編號626；另有 H.F.Parfitt 及 R.H.R. Palmer 藏例，曾兩度售於倫敦蘇富比，分別於1946年2月8日，編號40，及1962年11月27日，編號15；亦見一例，錄於《Chinese Art under the Mongols. The Yüan Dynasty （1279-1368）》，克裡夫蘭藝術博物館，克裡夫蘭，1968年，編號175，後售於倫敦蘇富比1977年7月5日，編號229。另可比一盤例，花卉紋飾佈置與此盤相反，以纏枝菊花環圍折枝牡丹，屬仇焱之舊藏，售於香港蘇富比1981年5月19日，編號448。
