廣泛認為王無邪是香港現代主義水墨畫的引路者,，其作品中糅合傳統中國審美、西方文化與當代設計。王氏曾師從呂壽琨，研習中國傳統水墨，後於巴爾的摩市馬里蘭藝術學院取得藝術學士與設計學碩士學位。在海外求學期間，他受伊頓、克利、康丁斯基與亞伯斯等藝術家作品影響，不再拘泥於中國傳統美學觀念，逐漸轉向以抽象的水墨幾何形式表現山水風景。與此同時，他的畫作中繼續體現宋畫傳統中的雄渾氣韻，並同西方油畫傳統一樣，強調色調與光澤的運用，雖以傳統山水入畫，卻散發出超塵脫俗的乾坤之氣。王無邪憑藉自己充滿活力的畫作，被譽為中國這一代最具創新精神的藝術家之一。
《天地情》系列涵蓋了王無邪早期所有階段的作品特色，更代表了藝術家五十年來發展出的獨有藝術風格。據藝術家二〇〇八年的自述：「天地佔據我心，充盈我目，激勵我去繪畫，以作品捕捉它的精神。乍看去，我的一些作品可能比較抽象。但其實代表元素無處不在，常常與中國傳統有關。大多山水國畫在天空處都留白，我則喜歡以雲朵和霧靄填補，並不明確繪出地平線。我近期的作品展示出天空與陸地，強調常見景觀之外的無垠空間。
