米田知子生於日本，現於倫敦工作生活。她曾與英美兩地學習新聞與攝影，隨後開始執著地探索研究社會歷史，並拍攝強調主觀與客觀間對立關係的影像作品。《Heat I》（拍品編號2913）與《Wallpaper I》（拍品編號2801）都是米田早期作品，屬於其《Topological Analogies》系列，攝於1996年在倫敦東邊即將被拆毀的大廈。她捕捉城牆上的污跡與脫落的牆皮，將人類留下的無形痕跡與空曠房屋內仍然殘存的溫暖一一記錄下來。其作品引人思考過去與現在間永不止息的對話。米田作品現藏於全球多個私人及公共收藏中，包括巴黎歐洲攝影之家、休斯頓美術館、大阪國立美術館、東京都寫真美術館以及倫敦維多利亞與阿爾伯特博物館等。
