The first edition of the psalms in Arabic taken from the Syriac Peshitta, translated by Victor Scialac and Gabriel Sionita, and one of only two books from this press, established by Comte Savary de Brèves when in 1608 he went to Rome as Ambassador to the Holy See. The fine Arabic fount was cut at Constantinople during Savary de Brèves' time as French ambassador there between 1591 and 1606, and finished by Guillaume le Bé in Paris. A second edition was printed at the same press in 1619.
