Described by Blackmer as "fundamental to an understanding of the Ottoman empire" with "many important plates", the three volumes of this work were published in 1787, 1790 and 1820. The plates in this volume include official costumes of court functionaries, as well as fine double-page views of Mecca, and the departure from Constantinople of the pilgrimage procession to Mecca.
