the compressed lobed globular body with a pair of lion mask handles rising from three lion mask cabriole legs to a waisted neck and everted rim set with a pair of loop handles, the base cast with an apocryphal Xuande six-character mark, the later domed and pierced wood cover surmounted by an agate lingzhi fungus knop
Condition
The three legs of the censer may have been reinforced, with pins visible from the interior. There are minor nicks and casting flaws to the exterior. Some surface scratches. The wood cover had been broken and restuck, with an associated area of loss.
