白玉英雄雙聯瓶，器形可上溯至西漢青銅器，盡顯乾隆帝慕古之情。西漢青銅雛本為二盃，相聯處鑄鷹踞熊首；參考河北省滿城縣出土一例，刊於 Jessica Rawson，《Chinese Jades. From the Neolithic to the Qing》，倫敦，1995年，頁387，圖4。英雄雙聯瓶再次盛行於宋代，乾隆時已演變為聯姻成婚重要禮器，相聯二瓶象徵新人結合一心。

德安堂珍藏一件碧玉英雄雙聯瓶，展出於《玉緣．德安堂藏玉》，北京故宮博物院，2004年，編號131；另一例錄於《Jade as Sculpture》，明尼蘇達美術館，聖保羅，1975年，編號64；北京故宮博物院藏一件乾隆朝作例，載於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品大系．清代玉器》，卷10，北京，2011年，圖版149；倫敦維多利亞與艾伯特博物館也有一件玉雕英雄雙聯瓶，刊於 S. Howard Hansford，《Chinese Carved Jades》，倫敦，1968年，圖版94。倫敦蘇富比1973年11月20日曾售出一瓶，編號71；還有一例2004年11月1日售於香港佳士得，編號834，之後於2015年4月7日由香港蘇富比售出，編號3105。

其他材質英雄雙聯瓶，參考一件宋代銅瓶，載錄於 Paul Moss 及 Gerard Hawthorn，《 The Second Bronze Age. Later Chinese Metalwork》，Sydney Moss Ltd.，倫敦，1991年，編號35。Clague 收藏一件掐絲琺瑯雙聯瓶，曾展於《Chinese Cloisonné》，鳳凰城美術館，鳳凰城，1980年，編號39。
