百花紋蓋盒秀麗雅緻，內外巧綴繁英，原應屬宮內后妃之物。蓋盒外作纏枝卷葉襯百花紋，內部飾梅花冰裂紋，相互呼應，巧心獨具。乾隆朝尚掐絲琺瑯器，製作工藝卓然至臻，此件蓋盒可見一斑。當朝研發二十多種琺瑯新色，部分可見於蓋盒紋飾之繽紛嬌蕊，華貴富麗。

蓋盒上以細金屬絲擬蜷曲枝葉，留下大區塊琺瑯彩地，無金屬框線，別具匠心。掐絲琺瑯製作，需焊細金屬絲於胎上，繞圍出紋飾花紋，於其中施填琺瑯料，經焙燒打磨後，呈現光滑表面，金屬絲多鎏金，更顯耀眼燦爛。金屬絲繞出小區塊填燒琺瑯，較易控制，相對於大區塊者，欲燒得琺瑯平整均勻，需精工準確，實屬不易。

纏枝花卉紋蓋盒罕有，北京故宮藏一件梅瓶，紋飾相近，刊於《故宮博物院藏品大系：琺瑯器編3．清掐絲琺瑯》，北京，2011年，圖版98，同錄二件梅瓶，紋飾相若，但無綠彩葉紋，見圖版96、98。梅花冰裂紋掐絲琺瑯器，參考一件大盆，背面綴此紋，售於倫敦佳士得2010年11月9日，編號265，2012年11月28日再度售於香港佳士得，編號2223。

蓋盒內部及底足之梅花冰裂紋，寓意冬去春來，盛行於康熙年間，乾隆朝可見各式器物飾此紋，如掐絲琺瑯、瓷器、畫琺瑯等。參考一件乾隆年款畫琺瑯梅花冰裂紋茶壺，藏於台北故宮博物院，刊載於《故宮琺瑯器選萃》，台北，1971年，圖版48。北京故宮藏一件乾隆年製北京畫琺瑯瓶，錄於《中國金銀玻璃琺瑯器全集》，卷6，石家莊，2002年，圖版167。卡爾肯普博士舊藏另有一件珊瑚嵌金胎梅花冰裂紋蓋盒，2008年4月11日售於香港蘇富比，編號2310。
