finely potted after Ming dynasty prototypes, the circular body surmounted by a slender tubular neck flanked by a pair of scroll handles, superbly painted in washes of cobalt blue accentuated with simulated 'heaping and piling', the globular body decorated with an upper register of three leafy flowering sprays alternating with the lower register of three leafy fruiting sprays, including peony blooms and clusters of loquat and lychee, the neck detailed with floral blooms wreathed by leafy stems, between bands of 'classic' scrollwork and stylised trefoil lappets encircling the rim and shoulder, the handles picked out with scrolling motifs, all above a frieze of upright petal lappets skirting the foot, the countersunk base inscribed with a six-character seal mark

青花折枝花果紋如意耳扁壺,典雅絕美,標誌清初江西景德鎮御窰廠之至高成就,反映雍正帝指引下,御窰致力汲古創新,取材歷史名瓷,融會新意。是時盛名督陶官唐英(1682-1756年)於景德鎮御窰廠佐理陶務,其品味及才華對於清初造瓷工藝發展,做出卓越貢獻,再創歷史製瓷顛峰。

唐英十六歲任職內務府,事於養心殿,看盡御藏琺瑯作及畫作,耳濡目染,遂成其任職督陶官時的靈感泉源。雍正六年(1728年)唐英奉命以內務府員外郎職銜,督理景德鎮御窰廠二十餘載。唐氏領導之下,景德鎮瓷業達到前所未見之高峰,聞名中外。唐英不僅以「唐窰」著稱,其繪畫、篆刻、詩詞亦是造詣非凡,為人稱道。

青花扁壺結合簡雅柔歛之如意耳器形,及自然疏朗折枝花果紋,二者皆可溯至明永樂瓷。永樂扁壺器形擷取自東漢及唐代皮製朝聖壺,且多僅飾單組折枝花果紋於一面,唯梅瓶綴六組或十組折枝花果紋,後者尺寸較大,帶蓋,瓶肩飾仰覆如意雲頭紋,足繪仰蓮瓣紋,六組折枝花果紋梅瓶,器形略小,瓶肩環繪蓮瓣,足綴蕉葉紋。此件清代如意耳扁壺,融合明代梅瓶紋飾於扁壺器形,肩部如意雲頭紋與底足蓮瓣紋之間,繪六組折枝花果紋,古雅猶見新穎。永樂扁壺雛型,另參考 Henry J. Oppenheimer 舊藏一件折枝荔枝紋例,現存倫敦大英博物館,展出於《明:皇朝盛世五十年》,倫敦,2014年,編號83(左)。

明永樂年間,景德鎮御窰工匠們以不失柔美的畫風繪瑞果花卉紋飾,濃淡點染,層次豐美。比較北京故宮博物院藏一件永樂青花梅瓶,刊載於耿寶昌編,《故宮博物院藏明初青花瓷》,北京,2002年,圖版15及頁34,述及此瓶體現永樂瓷器隽永的風格。現拍品以雍正時期的藝術技法重塑永樂風格,從其刻意仿傚明初繪畫特色,不難窺見雍正皇帝對前朝輝煌的仰慕之情。紋飾之間留白,是另一處仿明瓷的細節,如此手法首見於永樂青花器,使紋飾更加明快疏朗、自然意趣。

此器腹上段飾三組折枝花卉紋搭配下腹三組折枝瑞果紋,雅致悅目且寓意吉祥。清宮舊藏一件雍正窰撇口尊亦見類同紋飾,底足模印凸蓮瓣紋,錄於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集.青花釉裏紅(下)》,香港,2000年,圖版78;懷海堂珍藏一尊,曾展於《機暇清賞:懷海堂藏清代御窰瓷缾》,香港中文大學文物館,2008年,編號88。另可比較二件青花尊,尺寸較大,其一出自 Jarras 收藏,二度售於香港蘇富比,1984年5月21日,編號89及1985年11月20日,編號69,1990年10月8日再售於香港佳士得,編號338,另一瓶曾為 Evelyn Annenberg Hall 典藏,2006年3月29日售於紐約佳士得,編號158,2013年10月8日於香港蘇富比再度售出,編號3036。

參考一件雍正青花折枝瑞果紋瓶,1982年5月18/19日售於香港蘇富比,編號208;另一繪相同紋飾橄欖瓶則於1976年香港蘇富比拍出,編號133。此紋飾沿用至乾隆朝,一件仇焱之舊藏青花折枝梅瓶,1981年5月9日售於香港蘇富比,編號546;另一件天民樓珍藏,見《天民樓藏瓷》,香港,1987年,圖版63,此處作者提及此批青花瓷仿傚永樂青花紋飾,特別運用繪畫點線重現早明青花濃黑鐵斑特徵。
