of archaic fangding form, the slightly tapered rectangular body rising to a constricted neck of corresponding form and a square-cut rim surmounted by a pair of openwork angular scroll handles, all supported on four mythical beast mask cylindrical legs, the rim surmounted by a pair of angular scroll handles, the sides decorated in low relief with archaistic mythical beast masks, interrupted by a pair of deer-like mythical beast mask handles on the shorter sides and suspending loose rings, the long sloping sides of the openwork cover decorated with low-relief leafy scrollwork, partially interrupted with a pair of mythical beast masks, the shorter ones with angular scrollwork, all below a stepped open-top finial bordered with two pairs of mythical beast masks, two diagonally suspending archaistic mock handles, the variegated apple-green stone with mottled with subtle grey inclusions

The incense burner and cover are in overal good condition. There are minor nicks to the fragile extremities as expected with age, especially to the rims of the incense burner and cover resulting from contact.
