the rounded sides rising from a straight foot to a flaring rim, the central medallion painted in bright enamels over designs in underglaze blue, three stylised phoenix around a floral bloom issuing curling stems all enclosed in a double-line border repeated at the rim, the exterior decorated with further phoenix alternating with blooms amidst dense scrolling tendrils,  the foot with a band of 'horse-hoof' motifs, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark

The dish is in fine condition. The mouthrim on the exterior displays yellow staining due to the firing.
