well potted with shallow rounded sides rising from a slightly tapered foot to an everted rim, the interior vibrantly decorated with a medallion enclosing four large stylised iron-red lotus blooms wreathed by underglaze-blue meandering foliage issuing green leaves, all within a double-line band repeated at the inner rim, the exterior similarly decorated with a frieze of eight stylised lotus flowers, the rim with a band of 'horse-hoof' motifs, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character reign mark within a double-circle

The dish is in very good condition except for stains over the green and yellow glaze due to slight misfiring. There is a green glaze grit and associated small green glaze splashes above the foot, possibly resulting from a burst bubble of green glaze on a leaf.
