of rectangular section with chamfered corners, the pear-shaped body with facetted sides swelling gently above the foot, covered overall in a thick glaze of soft bluish-green tone with widely dispersed crackles, the neck set with a pair of tubular lug handles, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark

Condition

The vase is in very good condition with just firing pinholes and shrinkage dents. The body is slightly tilted when viewed from the top.

In its luminous glaze with its attractive network of faint russet crackles, this vase was made to imitate the celebrated Ru wares of the Song dynasty.
