小水小山千點墨，一邱一壑一江煙；
晚年筆禿須憑放，翠壁蒼橫莫我顛。

註：舊王孫山水，筆意高古，俊朗飄逸，遠追宋人，本幅則謂「臨石濤畫」，題詩亦取自大滌子康熙三十八年（1699）〈山水冊〉中之句，稀見於其早歲作品中。畫幅為袖珍小卷，未及盈尺，構圖極簡，疏柳孤舟，遙接遠山，入目處，一片荒江孤寂之色。其筆墨寡淡，意境蕭散，雖曰臨古，毋乃亦為對刻下時局有感之寫照。
