the compressed globular body on three cabriole legs issuing from animal masks, flanked with two archaic dragon handles, each side carved in relief with a band of taotie, divided by three sets of vertical flanges, the domed cover similarly carved, surmounted with a chilong finial, the stone of a spinach-green colour with lighter green inclusions and dark green mottling

Condition
This censer is in good condition, but there is a small shallow chip to the rim near one handle (1.5mm by 1.5mm). There is some minor flaws running through the rim and a small bruise to one foot of the chilong finial to the cover.
