一九八一年生於首爾，金孝淑因為童年時經歷多次搬遷，故此作品總是呈現城市規劃及發展的殘酷及暴力，作品中時常展現了一個又一個無臉的軀幹在複雜的建築場景及工地中被殘暴地扭曲。金孝淑的作品展現了被隱蔽、無力及脆弱的一群，並呈現了藝術家面對混亂的現代社會中的痛苦和憂慮，暴露了城市規劃及現代科技發達的光華外表下的黑暗一面。

金孝淑於二〇〇四年獲得龍仁大學美術系學士學位，並於二〇〇九年取得美術系碩士學位。二〇一〇年，他獲頒第32屆中央美術狀及第十屆Songeun美術狀。金孝淑的作品經常於南韓展出，包括二〇〇八及二〇一一年於首爾的個人展覽「 浮城之一及二」。參與的群展曾於OCI美術館、首爾Hangaram藝術中心、韓國美術協會的Insa藝術空間及Ulsan的現代藝術空間等展出。
