註：朱梅邨擅繪山水、人物，惟如本幅工筆重彩滿畫者，傳世極稀。據另幅題〈仿仇英貴妃曉妝圖〉，構圖、人物造型、設色、配景陳設，以至簽款樣式，兩者皆類近。畫家家屬訂為一九六二年之作，按此推之，本幅應相近時期所出。

本幅尺幅狹長，僅截取庭園一角，朱樑翠瓦、花遮樹蔭下，閨女雙雙凝神專注，拈針引綫，正仔細刺繡几案上擺置之百蝶圖。主角既置畫面中央，傍植老樹，粗幹上伸，高及簷頂，前佈湖石，芭蕉相伴，背景見畫棟雕樑，鏤刻透琢，精工細緻，而垂簾半捲，上敷白粉，漆柱朱紅貼金，色繽紛艷麗，典雅雍容，氣派自生。

如此精心佈局，細意描劃，絲毫不苟，畫面幾無方寸留白，惟佈置得宜，無堆砌瑣碎之弊，既見擷取古人技法之精髓，亦融會清末民初滬上流行人物畫風，汲古融今而別創一格。
