of flattened baluster form, set to the neck with a pair of phoenix handles suspending loose rings, the body worked in low relief with broad bands of archaistic taotie mask, the domed cover surmounted by a flat finial, the lustrously polished stone with some icy white inclusions and natural veining
Condition
The vase is in overall very good condition. There are a couple of small nicks to the outer edge of the mouthrim. The cover is sectional with the finial carved from a different section of jade. The actual colour is greenish-celadon and not grey as the catalogue illustration may suggest.
