of hexagonal form, carved to the shoulder with a bamboo shoot, accompanied by a four-character inscription Shu zuo bao ding, copied from the archaic bronze Shu Ding, followed by another inscription reading You Shu Ding ming size Ziye mo ('four-character inscription from the You Shu Ding, copied by Ziye'), the base with a seal mark reading Xu Licheng zao, the cover with a small seal to the interior reading Licheng

There are a few minute flakes to the rims and incised decoration. There are also some typical surface scratches and minor stains.

許立成，清末民初宜興紫砂藝人，製壺精良，光貨花貨皆擅長，又善作百果壺，形色栩栩，製工繁複，時廣為流行。子冶，瞿應紹之號，清代書畫家、陶藝家、收藏家，松江人士，豐藏尊彝古器，喜製壺，並配自畫竹及詩句。
