the Yixing teapot of compressed globular form supported on three feet, the base inscribed with the characters gongju, the domed cover surmounted by a gilt-decorated twisted-rope knop; the soapstone teapot of similar form and raised on a short footring; rims and spouts of both teapots highlighted in gilt

The soapstone teapot has a star crack to the side, and the loop handle has been off and restuck. There are further crackles extending from the rim, which are likely to be original. The Yixing teapot has several chips to the interior rim of the cover, and a few nicks to the metal mount.
