deftly carved in openwork with two standing figures bathing a horse, the stone of a greyish-celadon tone with an area of natural russet inclusions

The carving is in overall good condition with just typical small chips and bruises to the extremities, including the tip of one figure's hat and possibly the edges of the rockwork. There is also residue of adhesive at the base. There are also small areas of pitting to the stone. The catalogue illustration is a tinge redder than the actual colour of the stone.
