the first depicting Sparshavajra, woven and embroidered in multi-coloured silk and gold, dancing and holding a garland of flowers; the second Indraketuvijaya, the Buddha of Confession, seated in dhyanasana and holding a parasol
Condition
The two thangkas are somewhat soiled and the fabric is tarnished as visible in the catalogue photo. There are stains to the larger embroidered thangka, predominantly to body and face of the deity as well as the lower register as visible in the catalogue photo. There are also further losses of threads and staining. The appliqué in the smaller thangka is also stained and tarnished with several loose threads and some areas of losses, including some small tears to the edges of the halo as well as some petals of the lotus base.
