the Buddhist sutra (Tib. sung den) woodblock printed in Mongolian script on loose paper leaves, the underside of the wood cover finely painted with the title of the sutra flanked by the luohan Vajriputra and Panthaka, the lower cover further decorated with four Mahabodhisattva including Maitreya, Ksitigarbha, Akasagarbha and Avalokitesvara, all standing on lotus pedestal amongst vegetation with verdant hills in the distance

Condition

One corner of both covers has burn marks. The covers are weathered with age cracks with the pigments tarnished, all consistent with age. There are burn marks to the lower left corner of the top cover. All leaves have soiling and water marks to a varying degree.
