comprising two pairs of dark brown shaped panels, the first carved in varying depths of relief with two ferocious dragons amid swirling clouds and flames and above turbulent crashing waves in pursuit of a 'flaming pearl', their whiskers highlighted in gilt, all within a keyfret band, the other of elongated form, similarly carved meticulously with a dragon chasing a 'flaming pearl'

Condition
The panels are in overall good condition, with some minor expected losses to the carving, especially to the openwork. Apart from an approx. 2.5 cm replaced section of the flame to the bottom panel, the losses are fairly minor, and do not detract from the overall appearance and the skillful carving of the pieces. Except for the upper right panel, the gilt whiskers are missing. Both of the top keyfret bands of the upper panels have been restuck. To the upper right panel, the bottom band is missing. The reverse of the upper panels has some expected wear and age cracks, especially to the upper part of the top left panel. The frames of the middle and the bottom panels are later added.
