the garlic-mouth vase covered in a thick variegated reddish-brown glaze and thinning to white around the mouth; the pair of cylindrical vases each surmounted by a tall narrow neck, applied with a mottled crimson-red glaze and inscribed in underglaze blue with an apocryphal six-character Wanli mark
Condition
The garlic-mouth vase is in overall good condition. Some of the glaze pools falling onto the foot have been slightly ground. There are also some minor firing imperfections, including a patch to the foot. There is a minute chip to the mouth of one red-glazed vase. The other is in good condition.
