宋至元 青釉菱瓣瓶

beautifully potted with a baluster body resting on a splayed foot and rising to a flared rim, the rhomboid-sectioned body with two angular edges interrupting the lobed sides, covered with a translucent greyish-turquoise glaze suffused with a fine network of beige crackles, the rim and foot accentuated with Japanese gilt-lacquered decoration

The mouth and two areas of the foot have been professionally restored with the traditional Japanese kintsugi 'gold lacquer' method as visible on the photo. There are areas of surface wear, occasional pitting and minor glaze flakes, particularly to the protruding and convex edges. The unglazed footring also has a couple of minor flakes.
