the slightly compressed globular body potted resting on a flat base, one side set with a short spout, the other with a flat and thin arched handle bordered with a raised band near the tip, the circular cover with a finial in the form of a curled stem, the exterior covered overall save for the base with a creamy-white glaze

The teapot is in overall good condition, with only some expected minute nicks and flakes to the extremities, particularly to the mouthrim. There are also some original firing imperfections, such as fritting to the tip of the spout. There are three restored areas to the rim of the cover (max. approx. 1.6 cm), possibly to conceal some small flakes. The cover also has a short firing line. The actual colour is less red than that of the catalogue illustration.
