one of a rectangular form hinged box and cover, the exterior  decorated with gilt figures of scholars in a landscape on a red lacquer ground, repeated on the inside of the cover, with a removable velvet tray and mounted brass hinges, lockplate and hasp; the one box and cover of smaller size similarly decorated; together with pair of Japanese lacquered two-tiered open pagodas, each level with a pair of figures gazing outward (5)
