This work contains the journal of the Swedish explorer and naturalist Pehr Osbeck (1723–1805). In 1750–1752 he travelled on the ship Prins Carl to Asia where he studied the flora, fauna, and people of the Canton region in China. Osbeck contributed with more than 600 species of plants to Carolus Linnaeus' Species Plantarum (1753). See also lot 173.
