安德烈·布拉吉利在1929年生於法國，其作品多描繪大自然、馬匹、女性、地貌和田園風光。儘管他的作品以具象為主，但超現實主義和簡約主義的痕跡依稀可見，並且極力宣稱：「我絕對不是寫實主義畫家」。他喜在大型畫布上作畫，又兼採其它媒材，如舞台道具、馬賽克、陶瓷。安德烈·布拉吉利的作品曾於世界各地展出，聖彼得堡冬宮博物館（2005年）及德國路德維希藝術展覽館（2007年）為他舉行過回顧展。
