Condition
Some minor wear to the gilding consistent with age and handling and a few minor scratches to the varnish. Some minor oxydation to the gilt copper frame. Overall, in very good condition.

Un profil similaire de Minerve ou Pallas Athéné, déesse de la Sagesse ou de la Guerre, orne le centre d'un grand plat à ombilic en émail peint en grisaille illustrant le Jugement de Salomon, signé de Léonard Limosin en 1555 (ancienne collection A. Moatti ; don au musée du Louvre en 1994, inv. n° OA11377). Pour le revers de ce médaillon, nous retrouvons un décor ornemental identique, avec un cartouche et des Amours, sur une série d'assiettes de Léonard Limosin illustrant l'Histoire de Moïse, également au musée du Louvre (inv. n° OA985a et inv. n° OA985b).
